In Case You Missed It, Week 6: Things are Picking Up
Welcome. While I'm sure this week has been pretty crazy for everyone looking at the threat of Iranian Weapons and Russian Invasion in Ukraine, here's some other bullshit which may not lighten up your day.
Big Stories:
Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu publicly refused to accept a plea deal that would see him resign from the Knesset for the length of an entire Schmita cycle today. The flurry of legal cases against Netanyahu (most notably case 4000) have focused on claims of corruption, mainly with media companies, and have been a political blight on Netanyahu since 2019. Multiple anonymous sources have claimed the attorney general would refuse any other possibility. Netanyahu, who's term in office saw Israel's GDP double and the Abraham Accords signed, is facing internal cracks thanks to his refusal to resign from leadership of Likud. The Anti-Netanyahu Coalition which currently governs Israel, includes:
The right-wing party New Hope, which formed mostly in opposition to Netanyahu from Likud dissidents,
Israel Our Home, a Secular Zionist party (born as a Soviet immigrant interest party to boot) which previously united with Likud but split thanks to issues with Netanyahu and electoral weakness of the new coalition,
And Ra'am, the Muslim Identity party Netanyahu courted to the detriment of other right-wing parties only to be backstabbed when they joined the change bloc which now runs Israel.
If Netanyahu resigns, I'd be willing to bet at least part of New Hope would rejoin Likud, if not members of Naftali Bennet's political party Yamina and IOH. Being Naftali Bennet had promised not to join a coalition of Arab-Muslim Identity and Leftist parties, the prime minister in particular has reason to fear a revitalized Likud which might reform the government without an election and take him out of the prime ministership (dragging Yair Lapid's planned ascension with him).

AP Flat Out Lied to Help Arafat
______
Arabs Admit they do not come from Judea, while Left-Wing Activists and Arabs attack "settlers" for what is nothing but Anti-Semitic Nationalist Fervor.
Meanwhile, the US sought to mediate with Hezbollah...And Was Rebuffed.
And Netanyahu is not the only person facing an attempt to kick him out of the Knesset. Somehow, I feel Lieberman will wear this as a badge of honor.
Germany is facing controversy over Anti-Semitism at a major modern art show over the inclusion of anti-Semitic groups from Indonesia and Ramallah, the latter being named in honor of a pro-Nazi Arab Nationalist. In Germany's Defense, even admitting letting a pro-Nazi "Palestinian" University is a problem and that BDS is antisemitic constitutes significantly more than the outright support from "The Squad".
Flat out lies comparing the people trying to save Jews from a Holocaust in Europe to the Nazis who killed everyone left behind. This is the biggest threat to American Jewry.
