Wacky Wikipedia Lies

It is universally accepted by historians the name “Palestine” in terms of the region of the holy-land was first used by Romans, and gathered steam during their campaign to change the culture of the area and get rid fo the Jewish presence. This is not an attack on Palestinians anymore than pointing out the renaming of Native American sites in the US is an attack on America. This is especially true being the Arabs which now constitute who is called Palestinian were not even in the area yet.

Origins of the Name “Palestine”
Encyclopedia of Jewish and Israeli history, politics and culture, with biographies, statistics, articles and documents on topics from anti-Semitism to Zionism.

But to Wikipedia, “Palestine” is a name tracing back to Egyptian times, and used continuously until Rome, even though no one can even speak ancient Egyptian out loud in modern times, let alone know what they meant. They got that source from this guy:

inauthor:"Nur Masalha" - Google Search
This unique book unites these renowned institutions, movements and multiple historical periods together for the first time, presenting them as part of a cumulative and incremental intellectual advancement and not disconnected periods of ...

Who has, amongst other things, explicitly written on multiple occasions that he thinks:

Jews have no connection to the Holy Land.

Jewish history in Israel is a myth.

The Torah/Bible doesn’t mention Israel, and that the Holy Land from the Bible is in Yemen (bizarrely). And his proof is that Palestine is of course a name from the ancient Egyptians, which he says in his book “decolonizing Palestine” without a source.

He also, bizarrely, has separately stated the ancient Egyptians were actually Arabs before Arabic even came to the continent. So not a trustworthy source.

This is against every major historian ever. Yet according to wikipedia, which has a strong set of far-right Arab-pan nationalist editors, erasing Jewish history is right and ignoring Palestinian history is wrong.

Don’t you just love it when history is politicized?
